CATALOG
Spring/Summer 2023
ASK: Revamp photography and catalog layout to make it look exciting and engaging for wholesalers to look through using a minimal budget.
THEMES: Self-care, slow living, indoor fun, enjoying the little things
IDEA: Since there is a minimal budget to buy props., why not use the power of imagination to fill in the blanks? By using doodles, we’re able to paint a picture in their heads and transport them to another world. The idea is to take them to a world they want to be in while they wear these colorful fun socks!
TAGLINE: “Step Into…” This tagline was used throughout the catalog and other promotional materials as a way to lead the conversations and imagination. (Also, a little punny joke since we’re selling socks.)
EX: Step into a world of creativity. Step into a comfort. Step into color. etc.
Fall/Holiday 2023
ASK: Take what was done in the last catalog and apply it to this catalog using new themes.
THEMES: outdoor adventures, getting back out into the world
IDEA: Using the list of socks that were requested to photograph, I organized different stories that would look cohesive with the socks photographed.
Pre-Photoshoot: I visualized the whole catalog within each season while taking into account what the sales team and overall company need. From there, I then storyboarded and designed a moldboard for each photoshoot to showcase my ideas to get them approved. After, I located a great photo studio, Premier Press, and communicated with the project manager there to put on the funniest photoshoots! To make this photoshoot work, I gathered models and our doodle contractor to create these amazing photos that put you into a story worth telling.
Post-Photoshoot: I communicate with the studio editors to make sure all the photos are edited correctly for the doodle contractor to use. Afterward, I start gathering information for these catalogs and merge data from a CSV file to fill in the product image, name, SKU, and barcodes. With the extra pages, I design them based on what is asked and line them up with the brand. Thus, the catalog is born.
ADDENDUM
A creative brief is presented to me, and I make a black and white paper turn into something colorful and fun! These addendums are printed and sent the same time as the catalog to give wholesalers a sneak peek into what’s to come next season to make pre-orders! This is also a way for the company to see what wholesalers like and not like ahead of time.
